WE''LL CHANGE THE WAY YOU SEE THE WORLD.
Once upon a time, and not so very long ago, an ocean liner was the only way to see the world. Well, here at Azamara, we believe it still is.
In the span of one vacation, you can journey to multiple destinations with no packing or unpacking...or leaving items behind in the process. You don''t have to worry about missing a connecting flight or extra transportation costs, let alone finding a parking spot. (And on Azamara''s smaller-sized ships, we can drop you off at the doorsteps of great cities like Nice, Seville, and Hong Kong.)
With the added convenience of "a floating hotel" that follows you all over the world, your accommodation costs are already covered. So you can spend more time enjoying your vacation, and a lot less time -and money- on figuring out where you are going to stay. When you go cruising, not only do you have a variety of restaurants to choose from, but your meals are also included along the way (and on Azamara ships, your drinks are, too).
And while planes, trains, and automobiles offer less than spacious seating and practically nothing to entertain you, on a cruise you''ll be able to unwind in between ports with a wide choice of complimentary activities, nightly shows, and enrichment programs, or enjoy a little "me time" with spa treatments and personal training sessions. Finally, at the end of the day, you can fall asleep in a wonderfully comfortable stateroom with all the amenities of a boutique hotel, complete with 24-hour room service, and then wake up in a new town or country...or even continent.
So really, when you think about it, the question shouldn''t be, "Why cruise?" but "Why not?"
Step aboard the new Azamara Onward℠, and arrive at the doorstep of the globe’s most hidden gems and storied cities. Built to cross oceans, cruise along scenic waterways and dock at locations larger ships can’t access — this small ship cruising experience is unlike any other
Throughout your journey, you’ll find so many ways to immerse yourself in your travels. While you visit Western Europe youre guaranteed the most extraordinary experience as you visit the ports of interest. In Alicante youll have the opportunity to visit a fortress from the third century BC that was built by Amilcar Barca, who was a Carthaginian. In Cadiz you have the choice to visit the art gallery that features masterpieces by Zurbaran, Murillo, and Alonso Cano. The most popular attraction in Barcelona would be the La Rambla, which offers everything from restaurants to street entertainers. The main attractions youll find in Casablanca would be the Hassan II Mosque, which is a 1930s shimmering white medium high-rise. The town of Naples tourist attractions are its historical castles from the 13th and 17th century. You may have recognized the town of Civitavecchia as being the place of the extraordinary masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. Gibralters tourist attraction would be the legendary Barbary Apes, which has been said that the apes survival predicts the existence of the British. In Lisbon youll have the chance to visit plenty of Monuments and museums. In the city of Palermo, its main attractions would be the historical Arab-Norman buildings. Arrecife tourist attractions include the Castles of San Jose, which was constructed in 1779 and is now the International Museum of Modern Art. Lisbon is many cities, from the cobbled alleys of the Alfama district to the broad Parisian style avenues at its heart. View it all from the heights of St. George's Castle. Belem's Monument to the Discoveries recalls the seafaring past, while nearby Sintra's storybook palaces, and the seaside resort of Caiscais, have different tales to tell.
Founded by Phoenicians in 1100 B.C., Cádiz may be the oldest continuously occupied city in the West. The Cathedral's gold dome dates from 1722, when New World treasures flowed here. But is also the gateway to the Moorish marvels of Seville: the Alcazar and Giralda Tower, the fountains and palaces of Maria Luisa Park, and the great Cathedral, whose altar is decorated with 4,000 pounds of gold from the Americas!
One of the "Pillars of Hercules," Gibraltar is an historic landmark with British and Spanish influences. Guarding the entrance to the Atlantic, the great rock still serves as Britain's threshold to the Mediterranean. Take a cable car to the top of the rock for a spectacular view of two continents as well as the famous Barbary apes.
The Plaza de Merced, cathedrals, and museums of Malaga make it a remarkable site for studying the history and culture of Spain. The coastline that borders the city is magnificent, and it creates a wonderful backdrop to the ancient land.
The major island in the chain known as the Balearics, Mallorca is Spain's sunny outpost in the Mediterranean. The town of Palma boasts a shady plaza near the Gothic Cathedral. Visit the Roman ruins and the Drach Caves nearby, or journey to the enchanting village of Valledemosa. Leave time to shop for lovely majolica faux pearls and hand-made lace.
Barcelona is the cultural heartland of Spain, yet its first language is Catalan, the native tongue of the proudly independent Catalonia region. Stroll down the shady, tree-lined Ramblas between street musicians and elegant bistros. Then perhaps visit the venerable Gothic cathedral, Picasso Museum or enjoy the architectural genius of Antonio Gaudi's Church of the Holy Family.
