Every Holland America Line employee is committed to providing a truly extraordinary experience for our guests. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

Ship
Nieuw Statendam
Overview

Launching in December 2018, ms Nieuw Statendam carries forward the nautical heritage, signature service and classic style for which Holland America Line is known - while raising the bar for 21st-century elegance. Sister ship to ms Koningsdam, she's the second of our Pinnacle-class ships.

Guests onboard ms Nieuw Statendam will love her interiors, created by brilliant hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and legendary ship architect Bjorn Storbraaten. They feature all the hallmarks of Pinnacle-class design: grand light-filled spaces, visual drama and sumptuous interiors inspired by the fluid curves of musical instruments. A beautifully appointed mid-sized ship with elegant lines, she proudly reflects more than 140 years of Dutch seafaring tradition.

At the heart of the ship, Nieuw Statendam's central atrium is breathtaking. Soaring three decks high, the atrium is capped by a ceiling that serves as a backdrop for subtly changing high-definition projections. By day you'll see wispy cirrus clouds floating overhead. In the evening, the atrium takes on dramatic lighting hues or reflects the clear constellations of the night sky.

With sophisticated decor and amenities, staterooms aboard ms Nieuw Statendam provide a welcoming haven at the end of an eventful day. Designed with input from our guests, they feature thoughtful modern touches such as bedside USB ports, frameless shower doors and customized wood cabinets. Like her sister ship, ms Nieuw Statendam also offers exclusive Family Ocean-view Staterooms that can accommodate up to five people, and specially designed single staterooms for solo travelers.

Destination
Caribbean - Western
Sleeping under a palm tree, strolling on endless beaches and eating ice cream while floating in a turquoise sea. What could be further from your everyday world? When you sail the Caribbean you''ll discover how relaxing, entertaining and just plain fun a week really can be. Visit a variety of beautiful islands and escape to paradise on your next vacation.
Ports of Call
Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
City Fort Lauderdale

Originally a fort built by the U.S. Army in 1838 during the Second Seminole War, Fort Lauderdale welcomes visitors with broad, palm-fringed beaches and an easy pace of life. Stroll along fashionable Las Olas Boulevard with its stylish shops or enjoy a sightseeing cruise through the city''s canals, boasting more waterways than Venice. Or, venture out and explore the cosmopolitan city of Palm Beach, or the wildlife sanctuary of the Everglades.

Half Moon Cay (Little San Salvador Island), Bahama

Half Moon Cay has the attraction of other private islands plus some! This 2500 acre island, prides itself in maintaining the natural ecology; it protects 2400 of its acres by keeping them wholly unspoiled. Located one hundred miles SE of Nassau, its large protected bay used to be a famous refuge for pirates (or as famous as a pirate refuge can get). Enjoy nature activities, beach fun, or just swing in the hammock to the island steel band. Make sure to take at least one dip in the beach which is only chest deep 60 ft out!

Falmouth, Jamaica
City Falmouth

Georgetown, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
City Georgetown

Survey the neatly shuttered shops for bargains, or the twisted rock formations known as "Hell." But there's nothing hellish about the white-sand heaven of Seven Mile Beach. Sample the rum distilled here and be sure to visit the world's only sea turtle farm.

Cozumel, Mexico
City Cozumel

Sitting just off the gorgeous Yucatan coast, Cozumel revels in its mythic white-sand beaches and world-class coral reefs. Yet Cozumel is also the last stronghold of the Mayas, who settled the island in 300 A.D. Residents still speak Maya, and sometimes wear traditional Mayan clothing. Nearby stand the great pyramids and temples of their ancestors.
