Club HAL

Holland America Line's youth activities program, Club HAL, offers an array of entertaining events for kids and teens ages 3-17, supervised by a full-time, professionally trained staff. They'll have an opportunity to join other kids their age for arts and crafts, sports, video game competitions, scavenger hunts, challenging team games and themed parties. Club HAL is offered on board all ships except for ms Maasdam.

Onboard Shopping

Enjoy a wide variety of duty-free shopping in such signature shops as The Vault, Diamonds and Gemstones by Mirabella, which offers the best diamonds at sea, brought to you by Sophia Fiori.

Fitness

Stop by the professionally staffed Fitness Center equipped with the latest cardio and weight machines. Try one of our classes on indoor cycling, Pilates and more or work out at your own pace. You can also head out for fresh air and exercise on deck, where you'll find basketball and volleyball courts, and two refreshing pools (available on select ships). Some classes may have a nominal fee.

In Vancouver, you're never out of sight of towering peaks--or of the sea. It is a prosperous city adorned with flowers lining the streets and lush greenery like Stanley Park. Museums offer fine collections of the dramatic Northwest native arts. Vancouver's Chinatown is the second-largest in the world. The waterfront Gastown district recalls the city's colorful past as a premier Pacific port since the days of the Clipper ships.

Prim and proper, neat and clean, friendly little Victoria island is like a breath of fresh air. Its British heritage is apparent in the double-decker buses, the Royal British Columbia Museum and High Tea at the Empress Hotel. Go out to the renowned Butchart Gardens, where sunken floral beds reflect international themes.

San Francisco, California
City San Francisco

Sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Francisco's broad bay will surely be a highlight of your cruising life. Once docked along the Embarcadero, you're just a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach and other attractions that make this one of the world's favorite cities. The scenic Napa Valley wine country is nearby, too.

Monterey, California
City Monterey

California's Monterey is located on in the Midwestern coast of the state in Monterey County. The original inhabitants were the Native Americans of the Esselen, Ohlone, and Salinan tribe then thereafter the Europeans arrived. Back in 1542, Monterey Bay's first discoverer was European Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo who declared it to be Spain's. Monterey's name was derived after Count of Monte Rey (viceroy of New Spain) by Sabastian Vizcaino who was the first it set foot in Monterey in December of 1602. The city was founded back in 1770 and later incorporated n 1850.

California's Santa Barbara is located in the southwestern region of the state in Santa Barbara County. The city of Santa Barbara is the largest city in Santa Barbara County. One of Santa Barbara's best assets would be its beaches. One of the recommended beaches would be the West Beach which is located right in between the wharf and the marina and is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach. Another recommended beach would be the Leadbetter Beach which is well known for family activities and swimming and is provides the ideal picnic experience.

Blessed with a sunny climate and a fine natural harbor, San Diego has grown from a Spanish mission into a thriving town. With two universities, a world-class zoo and safari park, the famous Hotel Del Coronado and the museums and attractions of Balboa Park, it's well worth exploring.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
City San Lucas

Sail past Los Arcos, the soaring rock archway at the extreme southern tip of Baja California that guards Cabo's perfect harbor. This idyllic bay once sheltered treasure ships from the Orient, and pirate brigs bent on those treasures. Now Cabo caters to an international vacation set, and has a strong artistic tradition famous for its black-coral jewelry.

Huatulco, Mexico

The entire community is, in essence, a beach, so you will never be far from the sparkling sea and the warm, shimmering sand.There are a couple of outstanding restaurants in the vicinity, and the shopping here is limited but still enjoyable.The Museo de Artesanias Oxaquenas is an extraordinary museum where you can watch artistic geniuses at work.

...The port of Manta is the busiest fishing port on earth.The Museo del Banco Central is a fantastic museum ...Manta's beaches are spacious as well as beautiful, and are home to a wide array of wildlife.There are a few truly great restaurants in Manta, and the nightlife is fantastic.

Salaverry (Trujillo), Peru
City Salaverry

This is the port for Trujillo, the "Lordly City," whose elegant mansions and churches reflect the aristocracy of the Spanish colonial era. Here you may opt for a thrilling excursion to Chan-Chan, an immense and magnificent enclave that since A.D. 1300 has been the center of the sophisticated Chim culture.

Callao (Lima), Peru
City Lima

Callao is your port of entry to the glittering, elegant city of Lima, the darling of Peru. Founded by Pizarro and the Conquistadors, the capital city today offers priceless collections ranging from the Museum of Gold to the Museum of Anthropology and Archeology. Pizarro's remains can be found in the Cathedral, built in 1746. From Lima, you can also take a tour to Machu Picchu, the mysterious lost city of the Incas high in the Andes, or to Cuzco, the capital of the Incan Empire.

Guayaquil is a port for Quito, the beautiful capital of Ecuador. As you stroll the cobbled streets of the city called "Queen of the Andes," rich legacies of art, history and magnificent Spanish colonial architecture surround you. Or, experience the natural Eden of the fabled Galapagos, Darwin's living laboratory, on a special land tour.

Puerto Corinto, Nicaragua

Puerto Quetzal has become the destination of choice for historians interested in looking at ancient Mayan ruins. The ancient city of Tikal is nearby, and its ruins are remarkably well preserved. Once you've seen the ruins, take it easy along Guatemala's Pacific shore. The beaches here attract Guatemalans from all over the country.

Hollywood discovered this little fishing village back in the 1960's, and since then luxury resorts and bougainvillea-covered villas have flourished in the delightful seaside climate.
