Arrival Port
Welcome to Holland America Line, recognized for nearly 150 years as a leader in premium cruising. Today, our fleet of 14 ships visit more than 470 ports of call in 98 countries connecting with all seven continents. Holland America Line guests are endlessly curious, looking to go beyond typical tourist experiences.
They''re not looking for things like waterslides, go-karts, roller coasters or climbing walls when they cruise. They are explorers who appreciate the one-of-a-kind experiences curated by the experts who manage our exclusive Explorations CentralTM destination immersion programming, with local cultural insights, insider travel tips, and unique shore excursions for an authentic experience in each destination. They are foodies who want unrivaled experiences in food, wine and spirits, and enjoy the award-winning dining influenced by our Culinary Council of seven world-renowned celebrity chefs.
They''re music lovers who appreciate the best in live music - exclusively on board at Lincoln Center Stage, B.B. King''s Blues Club, Billboard Onboard, Rolling Stone Rock Room, Postmodern Jukebox, and more.* And, they want to pursue these passions on perfectly sized, refreshingly uncrowded ships that combine classic design with contemporary elegance - all with service that attends to every detail, every day. Come, savor the journey.
*Venues vary by ship. The basic layout of the public rooms of the new ship will be the same as that of the Rotterdam, including the alternative dining restaurant, a lounge featuring an additional dance floor, and a children's room on Sports Deck that also may be used as a meeting or reception room. The new ship also will feature three staircases for the convenience of passengers, as on board the Rotterdam.
A FOND FAREWELL - The intimate Prinsendam has occupied a special place in the hearts of Holland America Line guests and now after nearly 17 years of service, she is leaving the fleet on July 1, 2019. All her itineraries will continue as planned through July 1 , 2019. There is still time to celebrate this beloved ship. Join us for one of her upcoming farewell sailings and experience all of Prinsendam's many pleasures for a final time.
With a capacity of just 835 guests, Prinsendam is intimate, comfortably spacious and small enough to explore destinations larger ships can't reach. Recently refurbished, our "Elegant Explorer" shines brighter than ever. While on board, enjoy cooking shows and hands-on workshops from America's Test Kitchen (September 2017). One of Europe's leading cities, Amsterdam's rings of canals and traditional Dutch architecture are unmistakable. Rich in art, history and culture, Amsterdam is home to the Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank's house, and the Rijksmuseum, which houses many works by Rembrandt and Vermeer.
Cromarty Firth opens in Scotland's saw-toothed Atlantic coast, welcoming travelers to the safe haven of Invergordon. This capital of the Scottish Highlands contains vivid reminders of the fierce independence of the Highlands clans. Visit Cawdor Castle, tour a famous scotch distillery, or scan the dark, windswept waters of nearby Loch Ness for signs of the monster.
...Dublin is an extraordinary city that is best experienced on foot...The charming suburbs are glorious, and the small cafes and coffeehouses are enchanting. There are a number of elegant museums in Dublin, and a couple of outstanding galleries and concert theaters. You will never get bored in Dublin, and this is why many visitors to the area stay here longer than planned...
A town of churches, bridges and pubs, Cork is best known for Blarney Castle where you are invited to kiss the famed stone to acquire the "gift of gab." St. Patrick Street, the town's main thoroughfare, is good for shopping and people watching. See the Shandon bells in St. Anne's church. Those who are willing to climb the 134 winding steps to the top of the steeple will be rewarded with a wondrous view of the city, harbor and hills.
